As an experienced UX Designer and Consultant with a Master’s degree in European Design (MEDes, 2008) and extensive expertise in UX design, visual workflows, data, and process analysis, Tom has been working independently since 2017.

Since then, he has been active across a diverse range of industries, including tourism, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, finance, digital learning, and plastics and motion industries, among others.

Tom’s philosophy, shaped by his hands-on experience, emphasizes that clear and visual communication is essential for simplifying complexity, enhancing collaboration, and enabling informed decision-making.
He says: "Communication flows best when it’s simple and visual."

This philosophy drives Tom’s focus on simplicity, especially in an era where AI technologies are reshaping the way we work. While these game-changing advancements empower processes across industries, there remains a clear need for visually intuitive overviews of workflows and processes.

If your UX design needs hands-on expertise or your workflows require improvement Tom is the one to call.

Designing Success: How Visuals Drive Communication

"What needs to be done to achieve the goal?"  This is the question I always ask myself when approaching a new task. It’s about effectiveness, which is the prerequisite for efficiency, as it focuses on the essentials. Therefore, the question should not be: "How can the goal be achieved with minimal effort?", in other words, how to work efficiently, but rather: "What needs to be done to achieve the goal?" This way, I can be truly effective and provide real value.

This understanding comes from many years of professional experience. Over the years, it has become clear what works most effectively: consistently implementing user-centered experiences visually. While this might sound unremarkable at first, it’s actually highly effective. Visual approaches span every area of creative processes—whether it’s needs and requirements analyses, strategy, planning, management, ownership, concepts, user journeys, mockups, or prototyping. Once tasks are visually embedded into workflows, the entire creative process becomes more comprehensible and, as a result, easier to manage.

This is, in essence, effective communication design. And UX design is communication design. In my words: "Visuals bring communication into flow!"

What Clients Are Saying

Susanne
Principal at a Pharma and Diagnostics Company located in Mannheim

"What I appreciated most in my work with Tom Büscher was his clear and structured way of working and communication, his transparency and his insight.

In doing so, he formed a perfect link between the project members and work areas involved, repeatedly "captured" the project using his MUXFLOW method and conveyed content between the individual project members.

He brings a special quality as a "translator" who can convey IT language in an understandable and, above all, clear manner and has thus brought the project forward. We work internationally and therefore communication is an essential element. Tom was the right man for that"

Wolfgang Hau
Managing Director of Advanda GmbH

"As the managing director of a family-owned company, I turned to Tom Büscher regarding the issue of generational transition. I faced the challenge of how to transfer my many years of practical experience into a system that would make my company attractive for potential successors. Tom repeatedly amazed me with his unparalleled calmness and wonderfully human conversational style. He was able to show me just how much practical professional experience I actually possess and how intertwined and complex these connections often are.

Through working with Tom, the relationships between the individual work steps became visible and were gradually transferred into a system using his MUXFLOW method. As a result, my experiences are now structured, digitized, and partially automated, making them efficiently usable, especially for my employees. A new, tailor-made back office was designed and developed for online collaboration!

With Tom the company's value significantly increased which in turn makes it now easier for a successor to join the company."

P. Steiner
Head of PIM at IGUS Plastics GmbH

"From my perspective, you initially came across as completely different from other people in the UX field, due to your methodology. It was unfamiliar to us and also to me until now. I was not acquainted with such a way of working.

The method you use is simply much more granular, much more detailed, making the workflow easier as well!

I was amazed that with this method, you were able to delve into the details so easily. That was something I did not expect."
